Made In America Save the economy... Made in America Watch this video to see what a small change could do for all of us.

Made in American Create Jobs in the USA

Lets all start to think this way and the economy will turn around for everyone! If we just start to think about everything we do and everything we buy to make sure that at lease 10% or what makes it up is an American company we will start to grow again. It used to be a badge that we all wore and would stand behind. Lets get some of the pride in what we do back into the economy and stop thinking about just the bottom line.

Creating Balance with Color in Web Design

The use of color sets the tone for a design. Choosing the right set of colors to convey a feeling or a style can be the difference of good and just OK design. One of the toughest battles can be the right set of colors to express a feeling. Color selection in design is a challenge for young designers, even senior designers often fall into a pit of trying to pick the right colors and combinations for a project. This problem seems insignificant, but in actuality it is quite possibly the most important factor in a web design or print or media.

Color can be a touchy subject or a source of frustration because it can be hard to convey or choose. Sometimes designers use colors that evoke certain emotions. Other times they use colors simply because they like the way they look or the feeling they give. While any designer with an eye can tell you that color works best with other colors that balance and play off of each other to create depth and balance in a design. In my personal opinion, color always has meaning. This meaning can be an emotion or it can be a personal preference on the part of the designer but it has purpose and meaning behind the selection. I find that picking a color and the looking at shades that balance that color help me build combinations that work.

Twitter Ad Results Better than Google and Facebook’s?

Last month, WebProNews brought you a story on an advertising campaign that Clix Marketing’s David Szetela was beta testing in Twitter. Since Twitter announced that it would be releasing a self-service ad platform this year, some people assumed his beta test was the new platform because it did have a few self-serve features.

#Trends on Twitter

Trending, we have heard the term before. We see things trending on social networks to find out what everyone is talking about. Tweeting trends can lend to big marketing dollars and a website that runs a promotion can gain large opportunities by being able to push tweeting trends. Large company’s are spending a $100,000.00 a day to drive trends on ads within the twitter network.

Last month it was noted that Jack Daniel’s had a push on a new spirit brand by purchasing three promoted trends on Twitter in seven day push to spark conversation around the launch of the new product. By using the hashtag #JackDanielsHoney. The Twitter activity was coupled with targeted ads and video content on Facebook, and YouTube kicking off a year-long digitally-focused campaign for the new product.

We are seeing more of this push into a network that really is more about being than about being pushed upon with advertising. The more that we push users with this type of marketing trending the more push back will become apparent to the user base. They may have 220,000,000 users on the twitter network but the more noise you create about unwanted marketing, like spammers, the more people will ignore.

I think that companies that trend about sponsoring things that people are active or social within. Lets pick an example. If Jack Daniels had of sponsored a social event or a social activity and just pushed out informational tweets on the activity, the brand building and adoption with that community of people would be greater than pushing out about the product itself. If a group or demographic is involved in a particular activity, they all have the same interest. I am a car guy, I love Porsches, so if I like to go to car shows and learn about sports cars and if I am the age or demographic that Jack Daniels is looking for then they should start to support those type of events or tweet about sports cars, what going on who is doing what, what cool new things are coming out. The idea would be that I would be more interested in Jack Daniels and the brand would stand out and I might start to identify with the brand.

We use that approach with our clients in web development and web marketing ideas.

Google Reworks Their Search Algorithm in a Big Way!

I was just sent a link to read an article on The Huffington Post site about Google.

Google Tries To Bury Low-Quality Content With Major Search Algorithm Changes

Google Google Reworks Their Search Algorithm in a Big Way!

Basically in a nutshell it tells us that Google has made a major change in their search algorithm. Search algorithms drive how Google and other search engines organize and deliver relevant search results to your requests. Google optimizes and changes its algorithms hundreds of times a year to increase performance and deliver a better search experience for its users. What this means to you is that the first page results should give better more relevant websites for the things that you are searching for.

We preach a lot to our clients to constantly review, add and modify content to their sites. This is more and more important today as you can see in this article. It may be good for some and not good for other sites that may be very relevant but do not update their content on a regular basis. My suggestion for good site owners is to spend a little time and money to optimize your site and keep the landing pages changing on a regular basis, as well as spend some time online in active high traffic sites and post about your products or services and point to your site as a resource. It is always good to provide good content that is timely.
